About Me

I attended Seattle Massage School from November 1998 to 1999, and graduated with a 3.14 GPA. It was a 950 hour COMTA approved program. I was also chosen to participate in the hospital internship program at St. Joseph's Medical Center, in Tacoma, Washington.
The massage therapists had access to every patient and their charts on every floor of the hospital. We also charted notes in the charts with the doctors and nurses. I was able to work on patients on every floor of the hospital including dialysis, labor and delivery, pain management, pre&post surgery, etc. Coming back to North Carolina is like stepping back in time a good 20 years! But I am glad to bring what I have learned to help people here realize the importance of therapeutic massage!

I was also a provider for Premera Blue Cross of Washington and Regence Blue Shield of Washington. Washington and Oregon are the only two states that have laws that make the health insurance companies include alternative medicine. It was established in 1996, and is called Every Category of Provider Statute. It is actually to keep the insurance company from discriminating against alternative medicine providers, and give the customer a right to choose their provider of service. The insurance company cannot tell you who to choose for your health care provider. Which is how it should be.
